How to Keep Gold-Plated Jewelry from Tarnishing

⁃    Gold-plated stainless steel is a popular choice for jewellery because it's strong, durable, and doesn't tarnish as easily as other metals. However, it's not completely immune to tarnishing and should be taken care of properly if you want it to last.

⁃    With proper care, you can maintain gold-plated jewelry for up to 2-4 years.

⁃    Try not to frequently expose the jewelry to water, chlorine, perfume, makeup, body lotions, hand sanitiser and harsh chemicals which could cause the base metals to tarnish faster. It is ideal to remove gold plated jewelry before bathing, swimming and exercising and sleeping for best results.

⁃    You can confidently wear your stainless steel jewelry in any wet environment, but under one condition; the water should be pure and free from chemicals. Several types of corrosion can break through the protective layer chromium gives your stainless steel jewelry.
